Milaha takes full control of two LNG carriers

Milaha informed that its unit, Qatar Shipping Company, acquired the remaining 60% interest in two liquefied natural gas carriers, Milaha Ras Laffan and Milaha Qatar, from Société Générale.

Following the acquisition, Milaha increased its stake in those entities from 40% to a controlling 100%, the company informed in a statement.

Both vessels were built by Samsung Heavy Industries, and are chartered to RasGas under a 25 year long-term fixed time charter agreement.

The 2004-built, 138,273 cbm Milaha Ras Laffan and 2006 built Milaha Qatar with the capacity of 145,602 cbm have approximately 14 years and 16 years remaining, respectively, under the time charter agreement.
