Minerva Gas, the Greek LNG carrier owner and operator, has made further progress with its newbuilding program.

The company, on Monday, laid the keel for its LNG carrier newbuild, SN2304, at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyards in South Korea.

The company noted in its emailed statement that the Minerva Kalymnos, a 174,000-cbm LNG carrier, is scheduled for delivery within early 2021. The vessel features a two-stroke X-DF propulsion and will be equipped with GTT’s Mark III Flex Plus containment system.

This is the first of a series of LNG carriers Minerva Gas is building at SHI.

To remind, earlier this month, Minerva Gas has laid the keel for one of its newbuild LNG carriers at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Geoje.

The vessel, to be named Minerva Psara, will be capable of transporting up to 173,400 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas and is also set for delivery in early 2021.
