Monadelphous wins more Ichthys LNG work

Engineering company Monadelphous on Wednesday said it has secured additional work at the Ichthys LNG onshore facility with JKC. 

According to a company’s statement, the contract is for electrical and instrumentation works for the product loading jetty at the Ichthys project onshore LNG facilities in Darwin in the Northern Territory.

Monadelphous added that the Ichthys LNG job is part of a number of contracts and additional works in the resources, energy and infrastructure markets with a combined value of approximately A$140 million.

Inpex-operated $34 billion Ichthys LNG project is scheduled to start production by the third quarter of 2017. Inpex has also increased the project’s annual LNG production capacity by approximately 6% to 8.9 mtpa from the initially planned 8.4 mtpa.

The Ichthys project is a joint venture between Inpex, major partner Total, CPC Corporation and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas.
