More Companies Get on Board Offshore Wind Connections

Offshore Wind Connections 2015, billed as the ‘must attend’ event for everyone interested in this fast growing market, takes place at The Spa Bridlington on June 4, the day before the Yorkshire International Business Convention.

The Team Humber Marine Alliance (THMA) organisers have already announced three lead sponsors: Able UK (diamond) and East Riding of Yorkshire Council (platinum) and Siemens (gold).

They have now been joined by five more Humber-based lead sponsors: ABP, Andrew Jackson Solicitors, Mapa PR, Myton Law, and Point Engineering.

Mark O’Reilly, THMA’s CEO, said it would be a landmark conference for the region.

“We have attracted some of the biggest players in the industry and we have delegates from all over the UK and Europe with more than half coming to the event from outside the region.
“The conference provides an opportunity to get updates on where the key investments are going to be and gain an understanding of where the supply chain opportunities are right now and in the future.”

Discussion will take place on a broad range of subjects including new port developments, offshore vessels, operation and maintenance and innovation. Delegates will also hear from local companies that have had some success in the industry assisted by the Green Port Growth business support programme.

Finbarr Dowling, project director at Siemens, said: “The excitement and anticipation regarding the opportunities for the Humber area from the Offshore Wind industry has been long running.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to share an update from Alexandra Dock with other industry participants on the day.”
