The WOM LNG High-end Equipment Upgrade and Transformation Project aims to comprehensively upgrade and transform the Wison Nantong yard in terms of infrastructure, production capacity and management and control process with a planned investment of RMB 1.43 billion ($210.6 million).

The project calls for the extension of the existing dock to 370 m by 68 m, expansion of the general assembly site of about 20,000 m2 , construction of the SPB general assembly workshop of about 14,000 m2. Also included in the project are spray painting workshop of 9,000 m2, comprehensive workshop of about 40,000 m2 and outfitting dock of about 9,000 m2.

When fully completed, the production capacity of Wison Nantong yard will reach: annual deliveries of 5 floating natural gas liquefaction units (FLNG), LNG carriers and floating storage regasification and power generation barge (FSRP).

The scheme will not only help WOM break through the bottleneck of production capacity, but also further enhance the engineering and construction capacity of two core products: FLNG (liquefaction capacity: 0.5 – 5 MTPA) and FSRP (power generation capacity: 100 – 600 MW).

“We believe that after the completion of the Upgrade and Transformation Project, it will effectively increase the competitive advantages of the WOM’s serialized large-scale floating natural gas solutions in the market, and also better meet the needs of global clients for large-scale floating natural gas facilities,” said Mr. An Wenxin, Chief Operating Officer of WOM.

The Upgrade and Transformation Project is expected to be completed in 2022.
