Murphy Oil in executive changes

U.S. oil firm Murphy Oil has elected a new member to the company’s Board of Directors and named two Executive Vice Presidents of the company, all with immediate effect.

Murphy said on Tuesday that Elisabeth W. Keller was named to the board while the two executive VPs named were Eugene T. “Gene” Coleman and Michael K. “Mike” McFadyen.

Currently, Keller is chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Keller Enterprises and is responsible for the oversight of the vision, mission and performance of a private family company devoted to investing, farming and philanthropy.

Since 2014, she served as the President of Inglewood Plantation, the largest organic farm in Louisiana, and as a board member for Community Health and Education for Rural Africa (CHERA), a non-profit focused on improving the lives of impoverished communities through education and health care.

Claiborne P. Deming, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Murphy, said: “We are pleased with the addition of Elisabeth to our Board. Her extensive background which focuses mainly on health and environmental issues, both domestically and internationally, will serve Murphy well in the years ahead.”

Gene Coleman is currently serving as Executive Vice President of Offshore for Murphy Exploration & Production Company and has been elected Executive Vice President Murphy Oil Corporation. He is responsible for all of the corporation’s offshore operations.

After joining Murphy Exploration & Production Company in 2001, he has held roles with increasing responsibility abroad and domestically and was named Executive Vice President of Offshore for Murphy Exploration & Production Company in 2011.

Similar to Coleman, McFadyen is also an Executive Vice President of the Murphy Exploration & Production Company but is in charge of its onshore department. Apart from his role in Murphy E&P, he is also the President of the Murphy Oil Company, the company’s Canadian subsidiary.

He joined the company in 2002 and became President of Murphy Oil Company in 2009. Following that, he served as Executive Vice President of Murphy Exploration & Production Company since 2011.

Roger W. Jenkins, President and Chief Executive Officer of Murphy Oil Corporation, said: “Over the past several years, both Gene and Mike have been exemplary leaders for both our offshore and onshore operations domestically and abroad. As part of our ongoing transition to an independent E&P company, they have each been given additional oversight and responsibilities for their respective businesses, and I am pleased that they will serve as corporate officers.”

In related news, Murphy Oil said on Monday that it hired Subsea Integration Alliance, a company formed by OneSubsea, Schlumberger, and Subsea 7, for topside and subsea work on its Dalmatian field in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
