Myanmar: PTTEP Encounters Natural Gas Bearing Formation in M3 Block

PTTEP  reports the drilling results of an exploration well, Aung Sinkha-2, located in the exploration block – M3 in Myanmar. The block is located in the Gulf of Mataban, south of Yangon.

The well was drilled to a total depth of 2,891 meters on April 30, 2011 and encountered natural gas bearing formation in Limestone reservoir.

The flow rate testing (Tubing Stem Test-TST) was conducted on two zones. The 1st zone indicates natural gas flow rates of approximately 0.14-0.17 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The 2nd zone indicates natural gas flow rates of 25 MMSCFD and condensate flow rates of 150 barrel per day.
