NDM to Deliver Equipment to Remontowa Shipbuilding for New PSV

Norwegian Deck Machinery (NDM), a global operating supplier of marine and offshore mechanical equipment, has signed a new contract with Remontowa Shipbuilding for delivery of deck machinery to a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) of Wärtsilä VS 4411 LNG PSV design.

The ship will operate primarily on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and is owned by Siem Offshore, the Norway based provider of marine services to the oil and gas industry. It will be operated under charter by A/S Norske Shell.

The following equipment will be delivered for the vessel:

  •  Two combined windlass/mooring winches
  • Two chain stoppers
  • Two tugger winches
  • Two mooring winches

The combined windlass/mooring winches and tugger winches is electrical, frequency controlled, driven. The mooring winches is hydraulic driven. NDM will also provide the frequency converter cabinets for the equipment.

The equipment is scheduled for delivery in June 2014.
