Neptune said on Friday that it named Odin Estensen as a managing director of its Norwegian business, based in Stavanger.

Estensen joins Neptune Energy from A/S Norske Shell, where he is currently the Norway operated asset manager.

With more than 28 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, Estensen started his career with Schlumberger before joining Shell in 1990, where he went on to hold various senior roles across Europe, and also to support operations in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

According to the company, Anne Botne, currently the interim country director of Norway for Neptune, will remain with the company and fully resume her head of legal responsibilities.

Jim House, CEO of Neptune Energy, said: “I am delighted that Odin will be joining Neptune as he has a deep understanding of Norway’s oil and gas sector and proven experience working with strategic partners.

“Having just completed the acquisition of VNG Norge AS, it’s an exciting time for Odin to join Neptune and lead our Norwegian business into the next stage of growth.

“I would like to thank Anne for the stewardship she has provided since April and, in particular, her leadership of the integration teams involved with the VNG Norge organization and business assets. We value her dedication to our business, and she will continue to provide key leadership to our legal teams.”
