New charter for accommodation vessel Bibby Bergen

Bibby Maritime has secured a new charter for floating accommodation vessel ‘Bibby Bergen’, starting 15th October 2014.

The vessel is moving to support Bergen Group Hanøytangen AS, who have been awarded a contract from Dolphin Drilling AS for an upgrade and five-year class renewal survey on the semi-submersible production and exploration rig ‘Borgland Dolphin’.

Having undergone a recent modernisation, Bibby Bergen can accommodate 180 guests in single en suite bedrooms and offers a range of public facilities over two decks.

With modern furnishings and entertainment spaces including lounges and games rooms, Bibby Bergen has helped projects of all shapes and sizes offer a comfortable home to their workers, Bibby Maritime has said.

“Bibby Bergen has always worked well in Norway with a great track record of successful charters in a number of locations, and we’re very happy to be working with Bergen Group on this project,” said Carl McLaughlin, Commercial Manager at Bibby Maritime.

The charter will see Bibby Bergen located in their yard near Bergen, Norway, until 31st December 2014, with a number of options to extend should Bergen Group Hanøytangen AS’s requirements continue.
