Nor Lines Relies on TYCAN

Norway’s short sea liner shipping company Nor Lines A/S has decided to move to full fleet conversion with TYCAN® chains on all of the company’s nine special cargo vessels.

The chains are a joint product developed by DSM Dyneema and Load Solutions AS in Bergen, Norway.

TYCAN chains are made with Dyneema^® DM20 fiber, which makes the chains extremely efficient and safe to use, resistant to chemicals and seawater-proof

“The new chains have been a great success in lashing oversized and regular cargo on three of our cargo vessels over a period of several months and in challenging weather conditions. The experience confirmed their huge benefits. We observed less damage and we experienced much easier and faster handling with better ergonomics and comfort,” says Heidi Skare, Operations Manager at Nor Lines A/S.
