Gas transmission via Nord Stream pipeline which runs from Russia to Germany through the Baltic Sea has resumed according to plans following annual maintenance works conducted during August.

Nord Stream AG, the pipeline operator, said in its statement on Thursday that both lines of its twin gas pipeline system have been shut down between August 9 and 17, with flows resuming on August 18.

Ruurd Hoekstra, Nord Stream AG’s maintenance director noted this is the fourth year in a row the company has carried out the maintenance work on the twin-pipeline system.

The temporary interruption of supplies has already been factored into nominations of gas to be transported via the pipeline to the downstream European partners.
