Norfolk Marine Wraps Up Bathymetric Survey at Scroby Sands

Norfolk Marine Ltd has completed a bathymetric survey of five turbine foundations at the 60MW Scroby Sands offshore wind farm.

The company used its WFS & Survey vessel the Norfolk Swift to carry out the survey.

This was the final section of works within a contract to install the company’s TFN Scour Protection System to the foundations supporting some of the turbines at the site.

The system was installed on 5 monopile foundations at the site to provide protection against further scouring of the seabed at the foundation bases.

“Working closely with our Survey Partner Geomara the team was able to mobilise to site, complete the works and demobilise over a two-day period,” Johnny Gallagher, Norfolk Marine’s Sales Director, said.

Norfolk Marine and Geomara signed a cooperation agreement in February 2016.

The Scroby Sands OWF is situated in the North Sea, some 2.5 kilometers off Great Yarmouth, UK. The wind farm, owned and operated by E.ON Climate & Renewables, comprises 30 V80-2.0 MW Vestas turbines.
