The consent covers the use of Island Constructor for well-related operations on the Knarr and Ormen Lange fields.

The Ormen Lange, located 120 kilometers north west of Kristiansund, Norway, produces natural gas from deep beneath the Norwegian Sea and pipes it onshore to the processing plant at Nyhamna. The plant supplies approximately 20% of the UK’s gas.

Furthermore, Knarr field is located in the northern part of the North Sea, 50 kilometers northeast of the Snorre field.   The development comprises a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) and two subsea templates, including six wells for production and injection.

Island Constructor, built by Ulstein Verft, is a facility designed for well intervention which is operated by Island Offshore Management.

The vessel is equipped, built and certified according to IMO Class 3 for Dynamic Positioning, ensuring the vessel to obtain the best sea keeping and station keeping capabilities in DP maneuvering.

It is capable to undertake several tasks including light well intervention services, construction and subsea installation work.
