Norway: Apply Wins Gullfaks C Pipeline Replacement Work

Business & Finance

Apply Sørco, a company owned by Apply ASA, has been awarded the contract on Statoil’s Gullfaks C platform for topside modifications regarding replacement of production pipelines for the Tordis field.

The work includes engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of two 10″ pipelines with valves and instrumentation, as well as tie-in to the process and utility systems on Gullfaks C. The contract runs until October 2012.

Apply has over the recent years won several significant contracts with Statoil, and the current Tordis contract is valued at around 75 million kroner. In total, the contract will employ around 150 workers in Apply. The installation work on Gullfaks C will be executed in two steps, and the offshore work related to the first pipeline begins as early as August this year.

“The agreement is an important new contribution to Apply Sørco’s contract backlog and will in particular provide a boost for our offshore organization”, says Frederik Hvistendahl, Managing Director of Apply Sørco. “We have previously carried out a number of similar projects and look forward to working closely with Statoil to secure production from the Tordis field in the future”.

The work will start immediately to meet a tight schedule leading up to commencement of the offshore work in August. The project will be executed from Apply Sørco’s headquarter in Stavanger.
