Norway: Bret Shanahan, New President of Emerson's Roxar Business

Emerson Process Management has named Bret Shanahan president of its Roxar business unit.

Bret has worked for 22 years in engineering, operations, sales, and management in the areas of flow technologies and instrumentation, predominantly within Emerson’s Rosemount business unit. Prior to taking up the role of President of Roxar, he was Managing Director of Emerson’s Roxar instrumentation division, Roxar Flow Measurement. He has an MBA and Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and Oregon State University respectively.

“The Roxar business unit and its innovative reservoir management solutions are absolutely central to Emerson’s vision of a fully automated production lifecycle from downhole in the reservoir right through to the transmission, refining and production of goods,” said Larry Irving, vice president of the oil and gas industry for Emerson Process Management. “We look forward to seeing continued success under the stewardship of Bret.”

His words were backed up by Bret Shanahan: “With our industry leading instrumentation and software solutions and with the operator need to increase oil & gas recovery and improve reservoir management decision-making, there is huge potential in our market over the coming years.
