Norway: Engineering Students Dream of Statoil and Aker Solutions

In the 2012 Universum Top 100 Ideal Employer student survey, Aker Solutions, a Norway-based international oilfield services provider, is voted the second most attractive employer in Norway by final-year engineering students. Norway’s oil giant Statoil took the first place.

Every year, Universum surveys students and asks them questions about their career expectations, how they perceive employers and what they associate to them. Universum asks students to select the employers they would consider working for and then choose the employers they would most like to work for, i.e. the companies that they perceive as being “Ideal”.

In the 2012 survey, Aker Solutions is rated the second most ideal employer amongst engineering students, which is the same result as last year.

Business students rate Aker Solutions as the 6th most attractive employer, while Statoil was once again voted first.  Amongst IT students Aker Solutions is rated as number 18 out of a 100.

“When taking a closer look at Aker Solutions scores, we see that students associate you with challenging work tasks, professional training and personal development opportunities. Amongst the students who regards Aker Solutions as their ideal employer, 70 per cent associate the company with market leadership and success, says Karin Jebsen in Universum Norway.
