Norway: Siem Offshore Announces Sale and Delivery of Siem Swordfish

Siem Offshore announces that the sale and delivery of the Siem Swordfish was concluded on 31 July in line with the charterer’s purchase option that was exercised in December 2009.

The gross sales proceeds is in the equivalent of USD 54 million. The proceeds will be used to repay bank debt and to strengthen the working capital by USD 16 million, in order to support the Company’s newbuilding program.

The gross sales proceeds is nominated in NOK and the Company will record a net loss of approximately USD 1.8 million in relation to the sale, due to a strengthened USD compared to December 2009.

Siem Swordfish is a Multipurpose Field- & ROV-Support vessel designed to meet the general offshore subsea market, it is specially designed for ROV & Crane operations for seabed duties through moon pool or along ship sides, equipped with efficient azimuth thrusters and a dynamic positioning system for safe and economic world wide service.

It is a “green ship”, designed for low fuel consumption and excellent sea-keeping. This in addition to low noise and vibration in hull and superstructure ensure high comfort for personnel and environment.

The ship is designed according to the class notation “Clean Class” and “COMF-V rate 3”, and high focus are given on reduced fuel consumption, which means lesser emission to the environment.

Siem Swordfish is built according to DNV’s notation “NAUT OSV”.
