Norway: Statoil Allowed to Use Floatel Superior at Oseberg

Statoil has been granted consent for use of the Floatel Superior mobile living quarters facility on Oseberg Sør. The consent applies from 20 March 2012 to 10 August 2012.

The facility will accommodate extra personnel during a high activity period in the Oseberg area. The floatel will be connected to the Oseberg Sør facility with a gangway.

Floatel Superior was completed in March 2010 by Keppel FELS Shipyard, Singapore. The facility is operated by Floatel International AB (FIAB), in Gothenburg, Sweden

It is designed to meet the most demanding regulatory requirements for operating in the  harshest environmental conditions in the world, e.g. the North Sea including the Norwegian Continental Shelf
