Norway: Statoil Gets License to Use Asgard B Facility

Statoil has been granted consent to use the new pipeline L-103 from subsea template L to Åsgard B.

The consent also entails changes to the process equipment on Åsgard B as a result of the new pipeline. There will be no changes to the process equipment on Åsgard A.

Åsgard consists of the deposits Midgard, Smørbukk and Smørbukk Sør. Midgard is located in the blocks 6507/11 and 6407/2. Smørbukk and Smørbukk Sør are located in block 6506/11.

The new, approximately four kilometer long pipeline has an internal diameter of 9″, and facilitates production from subsea template L to Åsgard B.

It should be possible to produce the wells either to Åsgard A, Åsgard B or to both facilities at the same time.

Start-up of the new pipeline to Åsgard B is planned in October 2010.
