Norway Total Gets Clearance to Drill North Sea Well

Total E&P Norge as (TEPN) has received consent to carry out exploration drilling of well 25/5-8 in production licence 102C in the central part of the North Sea using the Leiv Eriksson mobile drilling rig.

The planned start-up is 15 September 2013 with a duration of approx. 40 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.

Leiv Eriksson is a semi-submersible drilling rig of the SS Trosvik Bingo 9000 type. It is owned by Ocean Rig and will be operated by Rig Management Norway.

Leiv Eriksson is registered in Korea, with DNV as the classification society.

Leiv Eriksson received the PSA’s Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in July 2008.
