Novatek’s gas production climbs

Novatek, operator of the giant Yamal LNG project in Russia, reported on Friday a rise of 2.2% in its gas production in the first half of this year.

Russia’s No. 2 gas producer said in its preliminary report that marketable production totaled 33.76 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas in the first half of this year, up by 0.72 bcm as compared to the same period a year ago.

The company processed 6,346 thousand tons of unstable gas condensate at the Purovsky Processing Plant,a 17% increase as compared with the corresponding volumes processed in the first half 2015.

Novatek said it processed 3,543 thousand tons of stable gas condensate at the Ust-Luga Complex, which was 3 higher than the volumes processed at the facility in the first half 2015.

Export sales of stable gas condensate amounted to 730 thousand tons.

As at 30 June 2016, Novatek had 1.66 bcm of natural gas and 468 thousand tons of stable gas condensate and petroleum products in storage or transit and recognized as inventory, the company added.
