In this Master Class, Léon Overdulve will take participants on a journey through the history of OOS International’s fleet to the current newbuild Semi-Submersible Crane Vessels OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren. In particular Léon brings the offshore challenges to discussion and shares his visions on the importance of collaboration to successfully complete innovative newbuild projects.

The promise of geothermal – what’s in it for oil & gas companies?

Geothermal energy can play a role in decarbonizing domestic heat and ultra-deep geothermal could even supply high temperature heat for heavy industry. Developing geothermal energy projects requires the same kind of techniques used in oil & gas, only the product differs. In this Master Class, Adrian Cretoiu will discuss the outlook for geothermal energy deployment and its potential for oil & gas companies. Participants are challenged to discuss the geological, economic and commercial conditions under which geothermal energy could take off.

Adrian Cretoiu is Managing Director – Western Europe with Schlumberger. In this role he is responsible for the full Schlumberger business portfolio spanning exploration, drilling, characterization and production working with all European clients. Adrian joined Schlumberger in 1997 and has held managerial roles in line management and strategy development, business development and production management in the US, Norway, Malaysia, France, Singapore and Romania. Adrian holds an MSc Electrical and Electronics Engineering from INSA Lyon and Iowa State University and an MBA from Duke University – Fuqua School of Business.
