OFG Bags GSR Survey Deal

Ocean Floor Geophysics (OFG) has been awarded a contract by Global Seas Mineral Resources NV (GSR) for seafloor sampling, AUV, and geophysical services.

Since September 2014, GSR NV has been integrated into DEME Concessions NV. GSR and OceanflORE (a joint venture between Royal IHC and DEME) are working together towards making offshore harvesting possible, profitable and sustainable.

On January 14, 2013, the International Seabed Authority and Global Sea Mineral Resources NV (GSR) signed a 15-year contract for prospecting and exploration for polymetallic nodules. Under the contract, GSR will have exclusive rights for exploration for polymetallic nodules over 76,728 square kilometers of the seabed in the eastern part of the Clarion Clipperton Zone (CCZ) of the Central Pacific Ocean.

The North Vancouver-based OFG, operator of the Plume Hunter AUV, did not disclose any additional information about the project and contract value.
