OLT Offshore Completes Fourth STS LNG Transfer

OLT Offshore LNG Toscana said in a statement that a 4th LNG ship-to-ship offloading operation to the FSRU has been recently completed and the commissioning phase of the floating terminal continues, in line with the company’s program.

OLT Offshore also launched a tender to individuate the subjects available to supply LNG to the FSRU to support the “Peak Shaving” service.

This is one of the emergency measures established by the Decree of the Ministry for Economic Development, which recently changed the Emergency Plan to face unfavourable events for the natural gas system and to guarantee the security of the Italian Gas System, according to the company.

OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, set up from the association of E.ON Group (46.79%), Iren Group (46.79%), OLT Energy Toscana S.p.A. (3.73%) and Golar LNG (2.69%), was created to realize the regasification terminal project which envisages a floating unit positioned 22 km offshore the Tuscan coast.

The gas will be transferred onshore through a 36.5 km long pipeline operated and managed by Snam Rete Gas, of which 29.5 km are at sea and 7 km on dry land.
