‘Olympic Boa’ OCV named at Kleven yard
Kleven shipyard in Norway hosted a naming ceremony for Olympic Boa offshore construction vessel on Saturday, March 28, 2014.
The vessel’s godmother was Iren Bjerkan, married to Helge Røraas, President and Chief Executive Officer at BOA marine services, who has chartered the vessel for the next three years plus options. Olympic Boa is a subsea construction vessel of MT 6022 design, able to accommodate a total of 102 people. Olympic Boa is to be delivered from Kleven Yard early April.
The charter will begin during the second quarter of 2014 upon the vessel arriving in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM).
The OCV Olympic Boa is designed to meet the demanding offshore oil & gas market, with diesel electric frequency controlled propulsion, highly efficient azimuth thrusters with DP-2 dynamic positioning system for station keeping. The Olympic Boa is designed for low fuel consumption and excellent sea– and station-keeping capabilities, in addition to low noise and vibration levels in hull and superstructure that ensures the highest comfort and safety levels for the personnel onboard.
