Oman: Galfar Wins Barka Harbour Deal

Galfar has been awarded an RO10.9 Million (USD 28.12 Million) contract for the construction of a fishing harbour in the Wilayat of Barka by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Jai K Salvi, vice president of business development and tendering at Galfar, said that construction of the fishing harbour will start within two months and will be completed within 18 months.

He said, “It will be a standard fishing harbour with two breakwaters between 450m-600m length each. The harbour will have a 100m long quay wall for berthing small fishing vessels. The harbour will also house a number of buildings and other facilities, for related functions, which are not included in this contract.”
