Oman LNG, ESO Sign Deal on Environmental Conservation

Oman LNG and ESO have signed a pivotal five- year agreement that will see the Sultanate’s primary liquefied natural gas (LNG) company provide long-term funding in support of ESO’s aspirations to increase its environmental conservation outreach and effectiveness in Oman.

Oman LNG has committed capacity building funding for a five-year period 2012 – 2016 towards inducting young Omani graduates into all aspects of environmental management, expanding community outreach programmes, attracting more volunteer involvement in the non-profit organisation’s multi-pronged initiatives and to increase and broaden ESO’s projects’ base to better understand and safeguard Oman’s natural environment.

This partnership will accelerate the development of genuine and professional environmental capacity in Oman and significantly increase the contributions ESO will be making to addressing wider environmental challenges in Oman and finding and implementing solutions that will protect and preserve the environment for the future.
