OMM and NSS Offer New Cable Monitoring Tool

Offshore Marine Management (OMM) has entered into a long-term collaboration with North Sea Systems (NSS) to bring new monitoring tool, the CableFish, to the market.

CableFish is a touchdown monitoring tool for cable installation which can be utilized in all marine environments.

It was engineered to overcome issues with damage and suspension during cable installation, as well as to reduce significant delays and expense, by providing continuous visual and position monitoring of the cable touchdown point at a fraction of the cost of an ROV, the company explained.

Rob Grimmond, managing director of OMM, said: “In order to harness the potential for economic growth offered by the industry, it continually demands innovation to be competitive and safe in changing environments. Working with NSS to offer CableFish has the potential to help make this possible.”

Dave Rigg, managing director of NSS, added: “We are delighted that OMM has selected CableFish as their preferred solution for submarine cable touchdown monitoring. Their long expertise in the submarine cabling industry makes them an excellent partner. We look forward to working with OMM and setting a new benchmark for cable installation.”
