Omni helicopters to support Dommo Energia ops off Brazil

Helicopter operator Omni Táxi Aéreo has won a contract with Dommo Energia, formerly known as OGX, for transport of passengers to its FPSO and rig at the Tubarão Martelo field.

Omni said on Friday, January 26 that this was the company’s first signed contract in 2018.

The deal will consist of six flights per week carrying out a crew change at the Tubarão Martelo field, located south of the Campos Basin, in Brazil.

Omni will be using an S76C++ aircraft model, with the capacity to transport up to 12 passengers. The regular flights will departure from Cabo Frio airport, and Omni will also be responsible for Dommo’s medical evacuation coverage departing from Macaé airport.

Omni CEO, Roberto Coimbra, said: “It’s with great satisfaction that we announce our first 2018 contract, with Dommo Energia. Though this partnership, we seek to support Dommo’s expansion and growth, that only in 2017 reached the mark of 5,5 thousands of oil barrels produced.

“Therefore, we strengthen Omni’s market share, diversifying our customer portfolio and expect to sign more contracts along this year.”

As for the field, Tubarao Martelo is located within BM-C-39 and BM-C-40 blocks of the Campos Basin in water depths of 110m, approximately 95km from Rio de Janeiro.

The field was declared commercial in April 2012 and drilling activities began in the second quarter of 2012. In December 2013, first production from the field occurred from the TBMT-8H well. The field is 100 percent owned by Dommo Energia.

Earlier this month, Dommo Energia resumed production from the 7-TBMT-8H well on the field which was interrupted on July 31, 2017, after the decline of pressure on a wet Christmas tree and the absence of flow in the well line to the FPSO OSX-3 production unit.
