One person died while another was injured in an explosion which occurred aboard a container vessel in the late evening hours on January 19 in Felixstowe, according to the UK Coastguard.

The vessel in question is reportedly the 147,420 dwt Manhattan Bridge which suffered the explosion due to a steam build up in the boiler room.

According to AIS data provided by MarineTraffic, the Japanese-flagged boxship, which was scheduled to depart for Hamburg, Germany, is currently stopped at the terminal.
