One Injured and Three Missing in Fire at Tanoto Shipyard

One man has been seriously injured while three are still missing due to a fire that broke out yesterday at Tanoto Shipyard off Shipyard Road in Jurong, Singapore.

As Straitstimes reports, according to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) the Tanoto fire started from a tug boat and later spread to three other vessels that were adjacent to it. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) managed to put the fire under control within just 90 minutes.

Officers led by the MOM’s Occupational Safety and Health Inspectorate have commenced investigations into the incident.
