Orient Cable Receives Offshore Wind Order from China Three Gorges

Orient Cable has received a letter of award from China Three Gorges New Energy (CTG) to supply cables for the Guangdong Yangjiang Shaba-West (Phase II) offshore wind project in China.

Orient Cable is in charge of providing 178km of cable, including 62km of 220kV export and 116km of 35kV inter-array cable.

Two circuits of export cables will be connected from one 220kV offshore substation platform to the onshore centralized control center.

According to Orient Cable, this is the second total package project on an EPCI basis that Ningbo Orient Wires & Cables obtained after winning the first phase in July 2018.

The phase two offshore wind project is located on a 64km2 site and has a planned installed capacity of 400MW.
