Ottoway Engineering Scores Gladstone LNG Contract

E&A Limited (EAL) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Ottoway Engineering Pty Ltd has been awarded a $14.5M contract to perform site installation works for the Gladstone LNG Upstream Project—Roma Hub.

The project consists of the following works:

  • Plate pile cap installation and welding;
  • Remote wellhead pipe spooling installation and welding; and
  • Installation and welding of the pipe spooling for the main hub.

Preliminary works have commenced on site with the project expected to be completed by October 2013. It is envisaged that at peak construction, Ottoway will employ up to 50 personnel on site.

Ottoway have increased its workforce in Dalby now to in excess of 40 welders and pipe fitters.

Mr Tidswell, Chief Executive Officer of Ottoway, advised that Ottoway has recently been awarded the following contracts to be completed within the Dalby facilities:

  • Leighton Contractors – Site and shop lease wellhead pipe spooling fabrication services – APLNG – Gas Gathering System – Estimated Value $2.5M;
  • Transfield Services – Wellhead pipe Spooling and Miscellaneous works – QGC -Estimated Value to date $3.5M; and
  • McConnell Dowell – Test Headers, Pig Launchers and Receivers – APLNG -Estimated Value to date $750K.

Mr Tidswell said the transition into Ottoway’s new Adelaide facilities located at 61-67 Plymouth Road Wingfield has now been completed with the new workshop operating at full capacity.

Mr Tidswell also advised there are other significant projects in the pipeline that will be announced as soon as contracts are awarded and documentation is finalised, which will provide ongoing work for its increased Adelaide facilities.
