Overhauled MT ASBONG Departs CIC Lixin

MT ASBONG asphalt/bitumen tanker successfully completed the repair and sailed away from CIC Lixin shipyard on 23rd of November.

The vessel arrived at the shipyard on 12th of November for renewal of  the boiler in the Engine Room. The Production department arranged supervisors to inspect the needed work on board immediately upon arrival and designed the work schedule. It took 12 days, 36 effective construction hours for the repair  to be carried out.

During the execution stage, the Deck department team made access between poop deck and boiler room bulkhead in order to assist with the Engine department’s work on craning the boiler as soon as possible. After the new boiler was installed on 16th of November, the Deck department team recovered the access. Since the new boiler was different from the old one in size and structure, the shipyard workers modified the line, and tested and adjusted its operation.

MT ASBONG belongs to CIC-Lixin shipyard’s old clients, who put their confidence once again in CIC-Lixin for the execution of this repair work.
