IP Gas Pipe Likely to be Completed in 2014

The Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is in the national interest of Pakistan and the government has decided to fast track on it, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar announced.

She reiterated the government’s commitment to go ahead on the IP gas pipeline project and said that the project is likely to be completed by the year 2014, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

She went on to say that, completion of the IP gas pipeline project to meet Pakistan’s energy deficit.

By stating that the feasibility work has been completed, she said that the government is trying hard to start work on this vital project as soon as possible.

Pakistan will construct a 700km-long pipeline from its border while Iran would build a 300km long stretch of the pipeline from Iranshahr to the Pakistani border.
