PDM Neptec Chosen to Appear in Marine Technology Reporter’s Special Annual Publication (UK)

 

PDM Neptec has been chosen to appear in Marine Technology Reporter’s special annual publication, which profiles the leading 100 companies currently serving the marine technology and ocean science community. The report is published in July, and distributed worldwide to more than 25,000 companies, government agencies, municipalities, research institutions and universities.

In choosing PDM, the selection board at MTR recognised the importance of the company’s technological advances and R&D initiatives, as well as its testing capabilities and product development expertise.

PDM’s in-house facilities include tensile and pressure testing; comprehensive electrical testing, and a 3.8 metre long oven used for temperature cycling and annealing. All testing procedures carried out in-house are documented under the British Standards Institution ISO 9001:2008 quality management system.

Over the years, PDM has been involved in many prestigious projects, including the design and manufacture of electrical and fibre optic connectors and harness assemblies for the MoD’s Surface Ship Torpedo Defence System, design qualification and manufacture of a towed submarine antenna system, and numerous subsea connector harness projects, as well as the encapsulation of components and hardware for underwater operations.

In addition to being the UK and European distributor of the standard range of Teledyne Impulse connectors, PDM has also developed bespoke electrical and high voltage connectors; water blocked penetrators; encapsulated sensors and transducers; instrumentation housings; cable bend control devices; Quickcure Moulding Systems for offsite cable repairs, and remote encapsulated displays for re-breather diving equipment. The company produces the Omega range of hybrid electro-optic connectors, and Omicron, the smallest fibre optic subsea connector on the market today.

PDM also offers comprehensive, cost-effective sheathing and over sheathing services for cables and insulated wiring across varied applications.

Current projects include the encapsulation of sensors used on subsea risers for the Oil and Gas industry; wiring and moulding of cable harnesses used on subsea vehicles; assembly of underwater ROV thrusters, and the manufacture of corrosion resistant connectors for MOD applications.
