PD&MS said on Monday that the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) modifications contract extension with Shell would secure 50 full-time jobs in the region.

The extension follows an initial three-year contract term with Shell UK which included the execution of minor modifications scopes, as well as larger and more complex projects for the supermajor on its North Sea assets.

Liam O’Neil, PD&MS director of projects, said: “It’s fantastic that Shell has awarded us this extension, and we now have an opportunity to raise the bar even further in our EPCC space.”

It is worth adding that PD&MS announced in December 2018 it would increase its onshore headcount by 25% during 2019, creating more than 100 new jobs in the UK.

The firm, headquartered in Aberdeen, now expects to create a similar number of new opportunities offshore, in the same period, for construction and commissioning personnel.
