Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped the first cargo of November over the weekend.

Shell’s Gemmata LNG carrier with a capacity of 138,104-cbm loaded a cargo on Sunday, November 6 and set course for Spain.

The state-owned Perupetro has not revealed the exact destination of the vessel.

Out of the last ten cargoes shipped from the Peruvian facility, seven were dispatched to Spain with only three heading for Mexico. It was also the third consecutive cargo shipped to Spain.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 362 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
