Peru dispatches two LNG cargoes to Spain

Peruvian LNG export plant at Pampa Melchorita dispatched two cargoes to Spain and diverted one cargo to South Korea.

According to the data revealed by the state-owned Perupetro, two cargoes of liquefied natural gas have been dispatched to Spain.

The first cargo was loaded on February 19 aboard the 173 400-cbm Valencia Knutsen LNG carrier and set course for Spain.

The second cargo was loaded aboard the 145,000-cbm Methane Rita Andrea on February 23 also heading to Spain. The exact destination of the two vessels has not been revealed.

In addition, Perupetro informed that the 173,600-cbm Castillo de Santisteban, which was initially reported to be heading to Spain, has now set course for South Korea.

With the two latest cargoes, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 384 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
