Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped another cargo of liquefied natural gas to Spain, reaching a mark of 400 LNG cargoes in total since the start of operations.

Teekay’s 145,500-cbm LNG carrier Hispania Spirit loaded a cargo at the facility on Tuesday, May 30, and set course for Spain.

According to the data from the state-owned Perupetro, it is the third consecutive cargo to head to Spain.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.

The cargo is the 400th shipped from the facility and the 138th to head to Spain since the facility started operations in June 2010.
