Peru ships cargoes to Mexico, Italy

Peru’s only natural gas liquefaction and export facility has recently dispatched its first two cargoes for the month of June.

According to the shipping data from the state-owned Perupetro, the first cargo loaded on June 2 aboard the 2010-built, 155,000 cbm GasLog Savannah. It is the first cargo ever sent from Peru to Italy.

The second cargo was loaded aboard Shell’s Gemmata LNG carrier with a capacity of 138,104 cbm on June 5. The vessel is probably heading for Mexico’s Manzanillo LNG terminal in the Colima state, although Perupetro has not confirmed the exact destination of the carrier.

With the latest two cargoes, Peru’s 4.4 mtpa liquefaction plant dispatched 332 cargoes in total, since it began operations in June 2010.
