Peru ships LNG cargoes to Spain, Mexico

Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita recently dispatched cargoes to Spain and Mexico in a period of four days.

On March 23, Teekay’s 135,423 cbm LNG carrier Madrid Spirit loaded its cargo and departed for Spain, with shipping data showing it is heading for the Bilbao LNG terminal, however, Perupetro has not confirmed this information.

On its last trip from Peru to Spain in January, the LNG carrier unloaded at the Cartagena LNG terminal.

The second cargo loaded at Peru’s export facility on March 27. The 136,600 cbm LNG carrier Galea sailed to Mexico’s Manzanillo terminal in the Colima state, shipping data shows.

With the two latest deliveries, Peru’s liquefaction and export plant dispatched 317 cargoes in total since it started operations in June 2010.
