Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita dispatched an LNG cargo to Spain late last month.

According to the data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, Methane Alison Victoria, the 2007-built LNG carrier capable of transporting 145,000 cubic meters of the chilled gas, departed the export plant on, September 30, and set course for Spain.

The facility exported five cargoes in September in total, three of which headed for Spain, with one landing in Mexico and Japan each.

In total, the export plant shipped 421 cargoes since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
