Petrobras Strikes Oil at Florim Well Offshore Brazil

Brazil’s state-run oil and gas company, Petrobras, announced today that it has discovered oil in a well located in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil.

The well, informally named Florim is situated some 206 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, in a water depth of 2009 meters.

The company said that the oil, found just below the salt layer, is of good quality (29 º API).
