Petrobras terminates two PSV contracts with Solstad

Solstad Offshore, a Norwegian offshore vessel owner, has seen its two platform supply vessel contracts terminated by Petrobras in Brazil.

The company said Petrobras terminated the contracts for the two PSVs “Normand Vibran” and “Normand Trym”.

These contracts were blocked by local tonnage, and work permission on the shelf were thus not renewed, Solstad said. The contracts had originally been valid until the third quarter 2017.

Solstad Offshore on Tuesday also said it has sold the Normand Drott vessel, currently working in Brazil.

The vessel built in 1984, has been sold to an international buyer, with delivery to the new owner scheduled for January 2016. Solstad has deployed the Normand Master, built in 2004, to take over the contract.
