Petrofac Extends Contract for JM Intan AHTSV

UK’s Petrofac has decided to extend a contract with Malaysia’s Jasa Merin for the MV JM Intan Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel.

The contract which started in July, 2009, had a primary period of 2 years with the extension options of 1+1+1 year, is to be extended for the second extension. The contract, valued at approximately USD 3.5 million, starts on July 23 2012 until July 2013. MV JM Intan is a 60 meters long AHTSV, with 65 T Bollard Pull. It was built in 2009 Muhibbah Marine Engineering. The vessel can accommodate a crew of 28.

Jasa Merin, a subsidiary of SILK Holdings Berhad, and the owner of the vessel, has been providing offshore support vessels services to oil majors for over 25 years. It is now one of the largest OSV-companies in Malaysia with the fleet of 16 vessels.
