Petrojarl Knarr leaves Aibel yard

Teekay’s Petrojarl Knarr floating, production, storage and offloading vessel has left the Aibel yard in Haugesund and is now on its way to the Knarr field in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.

The newbuild vessel, built by Samsung in South Korea, had arrived in Haugesund in September where it underwent final preparations. The floating production vessel is 256 metres long and 48 metres wide. The FPSO has a production capacity of 63,000 barrels a day, and a storage capacity of 800,000 barrels.

The Petrojarl Knarr FPSO will operate on the Knarr field located west of Florø for BG Norge, a subsidiary of the British oil and gas giant, BG Group
