PGS-GC Rieber Claim Case Goes to Second Round

PGS UK (former Arrow Seismic) has appealed the decision made by Bergen district court to dismiss claims of EUR 9 million that the company made against GC Rieber Shipping’s subsidiary Armada Seismic Invest II AS (Armada).

Namely, in 2012 Arrow alleged that Armada had acted negligently when the company took delivery of the Polar Duchess in October 2011 and claimed about EUR 9 million in damages.

Bergen court dismissed the claim on March 2, 2016, after various delays due to procedural issues.

According to GC Rieber, Armada considers the claim to be unfounded.

“Armada will continue to defend itself against the claim before the Court of Appeal, from which a judgment may be expected in 2017,” the company said.
