PHOTO: Rana readies DSV for Eni gig offshore Congo

Italian provider of platform inspection, repair and maintenance, pipeline inspection and maintenance services, Rana Diving, has been awarded a contract from its compatriot Eni for services to be performed offshore Congo. 

In order to preform the contract, Rana chartered the DP2 saturation diving support vessel (DSV) Toisa Paladin, which was idle for a few months in Ravenna port.

Rana informed that the 2007-built DSV was being mobilized to Congo for an extensive underwater inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) campaign, including 17 platforms, on behalf of Eni.

The activities offshore Congo are scheduled to start in early August and the expected duration is six months excluding any possible extra works, Rana said.

The DSV Toisa Paladin based on a lengthened version of the Marin Technikk MT6016 design, MT6016L, was built by Kleven Verft in Norway.
